Ben Franklin and Timothy Folger mapped it for the first time in 1769. Im such a Gulf Stream fanatic I got Franklin Folger's map tattooed on my arm. Growing up on the outer banks of NC will do that to ya. Geoff this is a great video thank you.

One of the worst parts of the possible collapse of the Gulf Stream is that we don't really know how long it could take. There are some simulations that propose that the collapse could happen in just 5 - 10 years, which would be an unprecedented disaster.
